Time is certainly flying. We’ve already completed one Alaskan cruise, and have started our second, and last, before we begin doing a bunch of two-week Panama Canal cruises. On the Alaskan route, the Infinity leaves from Seattle and stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, the Hubbard Glacier and Victoria B.C. Fortunately, we were able to get off the ship and see each of the ports.
Today we were in Ketchikan and it was cold, windy and rainy—I guess this is why we head south soon! There was just an announcement that due to a weather system in the Gulf of Alaska we will be taking a different route in order to see two different glaciers tomorrow. Hopefully the weather there will be as amazing as it was last week when we stopped at the Hubbard glacier!
Here are just a couple photos, because the internet on the ship is a bit slow (and isn't free).
Months ago, three friends and I auditioned at Indiana University to play in a string quartet on the Celebrity Cruise line. We were offered a contract and accepted. After some rather complicated personnel changes, rehearsing in the midst of everyone's crazy schedules, and recording a CD to sell on the ship, we are now a week away from moving onto the Celebrity Infinity for 6.5 months!
Chloe, one of the violinists in our quartet made this map of the places the Infinity will take us. We will start in Seattle, WA and end in Fort Lauderdale, FL. There is lot left to do before flying out to Seattle on Thursday, but I'm very excited to be starting this new adventure so soon.
